RV Technician Career Championed At CareerTech Conference

ACTE Conference

Last week, the RV Technical Institute attended the Association for Career and Technical Education’s (ACTE) CareerTech Vision Conference in Nashville, TN. The event, which took place from Tuesday, December 9, through Friday, December 12, allowed the Institute to provide information on the RV technician career path to school counselors and administrators. 6,500 individuals were in attendance.

The display included an RV to draw attention to the Institute’s recruitment mission, showcased the importance of industry-recognized training and certification, and helped engage curious school counselors and administrators.

Educational professionals are able to obtain information from RVTI staff on RV technician training opportunities. They then pass the information to high school students interested in the skilled trades. Additionally, participating in these events creates more opportunities for the Institute to encourage more high schools to incorporate its training program. Students whose schools include RVTI’s program could achieve their Level 1 certification before graduating.

“We ended the year on a high note by attending the CareerTech Vision Conference,” says Halle Howard, the RV Technical Institute’s Account Specialist, who represented the Institute at the conference. “We’ve been working throughout the year to attend school counselor events and continue sharing with the education community the need for trained RV service technicians. We hope to keep incorporating our program in high schools and higher education institutions. This gives more students an opportunity to launch their career in the skilled trades, ultimately leading to more trained techs. Attending these conferences—and having units on display such as the one Jayco kindly provided to us last week—are great opportunities for engagement with conference attendees and allow us to continue educating audiences on the importance of this career path.”

RVTI’s ongoing attendance at similar school conferences throughout the year and its partnerships with academic institutions, such as Navarro College in Corsicana, TX, and Littleton Public Schools’ EPIC Campus in Littleton, CO, highlight the Institute’s commitment to increasing the number of trained RV service technicians.
