RV Technical Institute, Truma Partner To Launch Advanced Training Sessions

In partnership with the RV Technical Institute, Truma is offering a free 8-hour course covering the Truma AquaGo, an on-demand water heater, and the Truma Combi, a 2-in-1 furnace and water heater. Training will take place at the RV Technical Institute’s facility in Elkhart, IN.

“This is a great example of the strategic plan that was laid out when the RV Technical Institute was first launched,” says Curt Hemmeler, the Institute’s Executive Director.  “Even then, we planned to eventually hold advanced-level trainings that require a higher level of credential to attend. We’re excited—for a couple of reasons— that this opportunity has finally arrived. Firstly, this course’s Level 2 pre-requisite will allow technical knowledge to be delivered at a higher level right out of the gate.  This elevates the course’s productivity and outcome. Additionally, this method means that technicians are away from their dealerships for less time.”

This course can apply 8 hours towards the RV Technical Institute’s Level 3 Appliance Specialist covering the subcategories of furnaces, instantaneous water heaters, and hydronic/combination water heaters. Truma will provide a certificate of completion that can be uploaded in your RV Technical Institute Level 3 Appliance application.

Registration for each session will open six weeks prior to the event date.

Offering this course is yet another way that the RV Technical Institute and its partners, including Truma, are working to enhance technician training and, ultimately, improve the RVing experience. Additionally, the class pre-requisite marks an achievement for the RV Technical Institute.

To attend the course, technicians must be an RV Technical Institute Level 2 technician or above. Failure to meet this requirement will automatically forfeit registration. Up to 20 individuals may attend the training.

Vendors and suppliers interested in partnering with the RV Technical Institute to host RV technician training courses at the Institute are welcome to contact Vice President of Education and Operations Sharonne Lee at slee@rvti.org.
