RV Technical Institute To Launch New Educational Partnership With Pennsylvania School District

The RV Technical Institute’s Director of Industry Relations, Justin Rickett, recently traveled to Littleton, CO, to meet with Littleton Public Schools, an existing educational partner, and the California Area School District (CASD), a prospective partner from Coal Center, PA.

Similar to the EPIC Campus, the CASD plans to integrate RVTI’s Level 1 certification into its curriculum, a move that would introduce high school students to the in-demand RV service technician career. By providing hands-on technical experience, this program will offer all CASD students a direct, accessible pathway to a rewarding professional future. The Level 1 curriculum will cover the seven RV systems: propane, electrical, plumbing, appliances, body, generator, and chassis.

“We are a small school district that takes pride in developing unique hands-on learning opportunities for our students. The leaders of our school district—the Board President, Superintendent, and Principal— are avid RVers, and we wanted to build a technician program,” says Dr. Laura Jacob, CASD Superintendent.

With this goal in mind, the school district began researching ways to develop a tech training program, eventually discovering the Littleton Public Schools’ partnership with the RV Technical Institute. “After a Zoom call together, we knew we wanted to see it in action,” says Dr. Jacob. “It was so valuable to visit the EPIC Campus and spend time in the classroom to get a feel for how we can develop our program. We are sincerely grateful for their hospitality.”

During the Colorado meeting, attendees discussed getting started, student inspiration stories, the class, the exam, hands-on learning applications, and funding.

“This visit represents an exciting step forward in expanding RVTI’s outreach and impact,” says Rickett. “The opportunity to welcome a second high school partner in the country speaks to the growing momentum behind introducing students to meaningful career pathways earlier. The collaboration between the CASD and Littleton Public Schools’ EPIC Campus highlights the power of schools working together to create hands-on, career-focused opportunities. By engaging students at the high school level, we’re not only strengthening workforce development but also inspiring the next generation to explore rewarding careers in the RV industry through the RVTI program.”

“We are thrilled to partner with RVTI to bring this hands-on, industry-focused career pathway to our students,” says Dr. Jacob. “What we're most looking forward to is watching students discover a passion for technical work and graduate with more than just a diploma — but an industry-recognized credential that opens doors to meaningful, well-paying careers. Level 1 will give our high school students a powerful head start, especially those who learn best by doing. We couldn't be more optimistic about what this partnership means for the future of our students and our community.”
