Connecting Educators with RV Technician Careers: RVTI Attendees at ASCA 2026

The RV Technical Institute recently attended the American School Counselor Association’s annual conference, which took place this year in New Orleans, LA, from Saturday, July 11, to Tuesday, July 14, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Great American RV provided a Grand Design Imagine travel trailer for the RV Technical Institute to display at the conference. This key contribution helped the Institute attract more counselors and showcase the benefits of becoming an RV technician.

The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) participates in this event to engage directly with school counselors and administrators, raising awareness about the certified RV technician career path. With the primary goal of recruiting the future workforce, RVTI connects with these trusted advisors to reach high school students interested in the skilled trades. Additionally, the Institute seeks to partner with educational decision-makers to integrate RVTI’s curriculum into high schools. This integration allows students to earn their Level 1 certification before graduation, giving them a head start in the industry.

"School counselors are often one of the first influences students have when exploring career paths, which makes the ASCA Annual Conference an important opportunity for RVTI," said Justin Rickett, Director of Industry Relations for the RV Technical Institute. "Our goal is to continue growing the RV technician pipeline by increasing access to RVTI curriculum in high schools and introducing students to this unique career opportunity. Through these partnerships, we are helping build a sustainable workforce while creating meaningful career pathways for students across the country."

Each year, approximately 5,000 school counselors attend the ASCA Annual Conference—a premier school counseling professional development event— to learn, network, re-energize, and discover attending organizations. This conference presents an excellent opportunity to connect with motivated decision-makers who arrive ready to make purchasing and referral decisions.
